Date Changed. Happy New Year!!!


New Year and New Resolutions 2013

 

The first day back to ZUMBA for the new year will be THURSDAY Jan 3, 2013 and at that time anyone will be able to purchase a 10 punch for $30. ONE DAY ONLY.

 

COMING SOON~~ZUMBA TONING in march.

I will be able to purchase the 1 lb ZUMBA toning stick at $10 a set for those interested. (Reg. $20)

 

TIPS:

 

Hydration: To stay adequately hydrated you need to be drinking water all day, even if you drink lots of water while working out you can still get dehydrated. Drink 4-6 twelve oz. glasses of water each day.

 

Food: Remember that your body needs energy in order to function properly while working out. You can get dizzy very easily if you haven’t had any source of food in you body in more than 2-3 hours. This is super important on Saturday morning classes. Good ideas for a small snack before class are; yogurt, peanut butter toast, banana, protein shake, or granola bar etc. If you work out on an empty stomach if can make you sick.

 

Steps: Remember to listen to your body. If it hurts stop, keep it basic. Instead of jumping keep your feet on the ground and step it instead. It’s okay to do it differently find what works for you. If your knees are prone to injury don’t twist you feet, lift and step with the moves. Please come and talk to me about any moves that you may need help with or issues that you are having, I am more than happy to help in every way.

 

Weight Loss: Moderate exercise: 5-7 days a week.

30 minutes~ reduces your risk of health related diseases

30-60 minutes~ needed to maintain body weight

60-90 minutes~ weight loss

 

Variety of activities is Best, on the days off from ZUMBA try swimming, biking, running, weightlifting, etc. Break it up with a day for recovery.

 

Healthy weight loss is 0.5 to 2 lbs per week.

 

Accumulation of excess calories that equals 3500 calories will result in an additional pound of weight gained. The same is said of excess calories burned.

Reduce your diet 250-500 calories each day for healthy weight loss.

It is best to record your intake of food and daily exercise/activities so that you know for sure that you are not eating more calories than are being burned each day.

Lastt week for 2012

Just a reminder that we have our regular Zumba class back this coming week. Then we will be off a week for christmas break. Then we will be back on Jan 1st.

**Also I am signed up to be trained to teach the toning class finally in February and we will probably start as soon as March with a few new routines. So excited to add another element to my teaching. Hopefully I can add the Zumba Gold for those that need a more toned down class.



Let me know if you are interested in a Zumba sentao class. It incorporates chairs in the routines that you might sit on or use for support. Just search Zumba Sentao on youtube to get an idea of the types of things they do and let me know what you think/

No Zumba this week.

NO regular ZUMBA classes this week. However if you can't go that long without zumba then you are welcome to join me when I have the teachers class this tuesday only from 4:15 to 5:00pm. I can either punch your pass or you can bring $3, its up to you. If that time doesnt work for you then I will see you again a week from tueday. (18th). Also this Tuesday don't forget the 2nd fundraiser for Abbey Owen at the school from 6 to 8:30pm. Bring any items you dont want anymore.


This means only 2 more Regular Zumba classes till next year.
